Would an item be at home on a point to point walk?

There are trusted objects carried on ascents, dives, picnics, and family hikes. They are subject to debate, myth making, criticism, and preference. So how do they rate?

Quality – Made with care, lasts its lifetime.
Value – Costs an honest dollar, has meaning.
Function – Does. Its. Job.
Style – Like Jusserand’s gloves, makes no apologies for looking good.
1 = subpar.
2 = solid.
3 = exceptional.
