Pepper Takes the “No. 030” Point to Point
For this Point to Point Review, we strapped this gorgeous yet fully functional bandana around Pepper’s neck and let her loose. Good things happened.
As far as the bandana goes, it is a sensible 23 by 23 inches, which provides plenty of room for tying around a pup’s neck, regardless of its size. Pepper’s older sister Lily can easily wear it, as can their owner under many different conditions.
The bandana fabric is a high quality 100% cotton weave. It is structured enough to feel substantial and soft enough to provide comfort. Pepper did not scratch at the bandana at all and seemed genuinely pleased to be wearing it. If puppies can be proud, she was definitely experiencing that emotion.
The “Goldie” pattern on the bandana, designed by Hemlock’s in-house artisan and screen printed in India, has a simple yet calming pattern It provides an excellent contrast to both muted, earthy colors as well as bolder fabrics. Standing next to Pepper’s partial Fox Red coat, it shines.
A Tool for Use
Not only is this a pleasing and functional object, it lives up to its billing as a tool for hard use. Pepper literally put the bandana through the paces, running through grass and rocks, and making sure to find plenty of ways to get it dirty. A squirt with a hose and a trip through the wash brought the bandana back to its original form.
There is no question that this is the progeny of an artful kerchief and a sturdy headsquare, and one that is able to satisfy the aesthetic and stylistic needs of bandana wearers, both canine and human.
An Empowered Quintessence
As if these features aren’t enough to justify the investment of the very modest $14 price tag, the spirit behind this carefully woven implement complements is present in its every fiber. Like how Pepper is strong, energetic, competent, and sometimes slightly edgy, the inclusive and empowered Hemlock quintessence and energy provides a welcome addition to her young puppy life.
